Warsaw Town Council Member Dr. Mathieu Sisk was arrested on the evening of Friday, Oct. 21 on a charge of assault and battery against a family member. According to Richmond County Sheriff Stephan Smith, the dispatcher received a call from a neighbor to Sisk’s residence in Warsaw at 10:50 p.m. The alleged victim was transported to Riverside Tappahannock Hospital and Sisk was served an emergency protective order, according to Smith.
Sisk was taken to the Northern Neck Regional Jail and released after submitting a cash bond of $3,000. According to Interim Town Manager Lee Capps, Sisk resigned from his town council position on Tuesday, Oct. 25. Sisk was elected to the Warsaw Town Council in the spring. His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 3 at 9:00 a.m. in Richmond County. The case is still under investigation.
UPDATE: Sisk was taken back into custody on Oct. 27 and will be cross-arraigned on Oct. 28 a 9 a.m.
