The neglected business park known as “the bottom” began as an eyesore; it has since been demolished, and Warsaw Town Manager Joseph Quesenberry says the spot will be reborn as “a beautiful place” that will include a three-acre pond, amphitheater, and farmer’s market.
The Town of Warsaw has a plan to develop the former Gannon property in two phases, the first of which is a pond designed to collect storm water and treat it before it’s returned to Juggs Creek.
When the town of Warsaw was built, its Main Street did not include drop inlets that provide a system for rainwater to runoff and return to natural bodies of water.
Under the current plan, the town will install drop inlets and build a pipe that carries water to St. John’s Street. There, the storm water will flow into an existing water line and then pour into the forthcoming eight-foot deep pond at “the bottom.”
