Ninja turtles, Spiderman, Superman and even a mother with sleeping baby in a stroller, all spotted running down Main Street Warsaw, Saturday, April 29. YMCA held its annual Healthy Kids Day and 5k run/walk, sponsored by Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. This year’s theme, Super Hero, encouraged participants to dress up as their favorite superhero and challenged them to run or walk the 5k course. Despite the humidity, all participants made it to the finish line without incident. First place in the adult category went to Marvin Willis who came in at 24 minutes and 37 seconds. Willis started running just four years ago; he ran in college 26 years ago. Willis said, “I am winning more now than when I was in high school.” Gabrielle Dockins came in first in the youth category at 29 minutes and 23 seconds.
It was a fun and exciting event with plenty of activities for kids and adults to do to get everybody moving.
