Young readers from around the county were rocking and rolling at a special musical presentation on recently to close out their summer reading program. The annual program sponsored by the Richmond County library is designed to encourage children of all ages to read all summer long to keep their skills sharp and to help them prepare for the upcoming school year. This year’s participants were treated to an end of program celebration featuring Leonardo Music, a one-man traveling band all the way from Chicago, Illinois.
Despite the heat and the threat of thunderstorms, a crowd of around 25 children came out to the Richmond County Elementary/Middle school auditorium for the event. Students, teachers, sponsors, and even some parents danced and sang along as Leonardo preformed fan favorites as well as original pieces.
