The Richmond County Youth Football league traveled to Westmoreland to meet up with area players to kick off the football season. Some of the teams from the Peewee, JV, and Varsity fared better than others, but it was only week one. The young players finally got to play a game, so they understood why the coach had to do so many drills (tackling, down-ups, toss sweep right). The little cheerleaders were on hand to provide liveliness when there was lull. You could see the smiles on their faces and the joy of performing from any point on the field. America’s number one sport will take hold of the nation for the next five months.
