“He was in constant contact with these kids,” Richmond County Sheriff Smith said in an interview with Channel 6 News in regards to William Cooke, who is facing felony solicitation charges for allegedly exposing himself to two minors. Police have confirmed that two victims, one from Richmond County and one from Northumberland, have come forward accusing Cooke of exposing his genitals to them. Cooke was a contracted janitor at Richmond County Elementary and Intermediate School.
Sheriff Smith was quoted urging parents to talk with their children: “Any parents out there tonight, sit down and talk with your children. Ask them about this individual and if you have concerns. Call us at the Sheriff’s office and we’ll be glad to help you.”
Cooke was arrested on June 25, is being held with no bond and will appear in court on September 5.
