In the Rapphannock Raiders’ Senior Night game to end the regular season, the varsity baseball team came back in a big way to avenge their loss against the Northumberland Indians with a 13-1 victory in a shortened five-inning matchup.

The Raiders opened up with a dominant defensive showing. Rappahannock pitcher Eamonn Collins reached his zenith when he recorded three strikeouts in the second inning. The Indians struggled with walks as the Raiders managed to jump out to a 2-0 lead.  The game blew wide open in favor of the home team when Rappahannock picked up 11 runs off of a mix of walks, triples and doubles.

Collins allowed just one run, which came in the fourth inning, and wrapped up the matchup in the fifth via the mercy rule, which ends the game after five innings if one team is up by 10 or more runs, with a strikeout.
