The Rappahannock High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), is busy with competition activities, performing at different venues, while keeping up with their studies. However, they still find time to conduct service-learning projects in the schools and abroad.
The cadets serve as mentors to middle school students by letting them what to expect in high school, but also informing them about the JROTC program. Additionally, the JROTC cadets are sponsoring the Care Package Project for military men and women stationed abroad. They are asking the community to help with filling the shoe-sized boxes to send to our service.
Ret. LTC Hobson and SFC Hudnall are available at the high school to take your donations. Hobson said’ We have the boxes and are looking for items to fill them up.” They would like to have the boxes ready to ship by the end of March.
The suggested non-perishable items include, but not limited to: lip-balm, toothpaste, tooth brushes, lotion, sunscreen, protein bars, batteries, sunflower seeds, hand written thank you cards, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, foot powder, throat lozenges, baby wipes, chewing gum, wash clothes, towels, socks, pen/pencils/paper, and notepads.
If you have any questions contact LTC Hobson or SFC Hudnall at 804.333.3551.
