The Rappahannock Raiders varsity basketball team ended its season with a win over the Lancaster Red Devils on Tuesday, February 5 and a loss to the Colonial Beach Drifters on Friday, February 8. The Raiders fell behind the Red Devils (11-20) in the first period. They hit the gas on both ends of the court and scored 25 points and held the visitors to 8 points to lead (36-28) at half time. Their defense continued to press the Red Devils and only gave up 10 points in the third to lead (52-38) heading into the fourth. Being up by double-digits made the Raiders relax a bit and the Red Devils cut into their lead to make it a close game at the end (61-57) a Raiders victory. Delonta’ Butler had 14pts, 11reb, Savion Epps 10pts, 3reb, 6stl, Kevin Byrd 9pts, 7reb, 2ast, Lawrence Reed 9pts, 7reb, Tyler West 7pts, 2reb, Elijah Carey 6pts, 2reb, 7ast, Korey Gordon 4pts, 2reb, 1stl, and Ke’Vaun Brown 2pts.
