The Rappahannock Raiders varsity baseball team hosted and defeated the Northumberland Indians (2-1) on Tuesday, May 7. Joseph Pierson singled to start the offense for the Raiders in the bottom of the first. The next two batter walked then Harrison Patton singled scoring two runners to make it a (2-0) lead. The next run was in the top of the sixth when the Indians cut the lead in half (2-1). The home team’s defense stepped up and got the one run victory. Joseph Pierson went 5.2 innings for the win with 10 K’s, one hit, and one run allowed. Marveon Newton threw 1.1 innings in relief to get the save.
