The Rappahannock Raiders football team hosted the West Point Pointers in the second round of the class 1 Region A playoffs on Friday, November 22. After giving up the ball on downs with their first possession, the Raiders put together an eight-play drive that resulted in a 16-yard touchdown pass from Kahlique ‘KJ’ Gaines to Tyler West to go up (7-0) with 5:00 left in the first quarter. They didn’t score in the second, so it gave the Pointers a chance to catch up. The visitors took full advantage of the opportunity by on a pass to tie the game (7-7) early in the second. They took the lead on a 50-yard pass play to go into the half up (7-14). The Raiders began their eight-play march down the field to take back the lead with the second touchdown pass from ‘KJ’ Gaines to Tyler West with the two-point conversion they were up (15-14) with 4:26 left in the third. The defense held the visitors to a turnover on downs and a punt to end the third quarter.
