Tappahannock Police Department Captain J. H. Siddons recently achieved the status of Master Assessor by the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission or VLEPSC. VLEPSC is a statewide body that awards accreditation to agencies that achieve compliance with over 190 standards encompassing Administration, Operations, Personnel, and Training.
Captain Siddons achieved this title of Master Assessor after either participating or leading accreditation assessment teams of agencies across the Commonwealth. Captain Siddons was formally recognized on October 8, at the annual VALEAC Conference in Charlottesville. “This achievement by Captain Siddons is directly attributed to his dedication to the accreditation process. His Master Assessor status is well deserved and will greatly benefit this department as well as other accredited agencies. I’m very proud of his achievement,” stated Chief James Ashworth. The Tappahannock Police Department has been an accredited law enforcement agency for four years.
