The rain poured all weekend, but Pickin’ in the Park happened even with the walls of water drenching the Warsaw Town Park. The parking lot at the park was full, as were a few other surrounding lots, and those that did attend in the rain gathered under the park gazebo, under the police department’s tent, or under tents by the beer truck at the event.
All the while, the band “All American” played on their stage covered by a pavilion. Their songs rang across the park field, which occasionally prompted people to come and dance in the rain. The band members are Cody Brockman, Matt Bourne, Rodney Bray, David Smith, and Irvin Moubray. Under the gazebo, attendees played corn hole, talked, and sang to the music.
The rain let up around 8 p.m. the guests managed to get out and enjoy the park. The children continued to play on the playground and some of the adults joined them for a game of volleyball, which led to everyone slipping and sliding in the mud and the water.
