Over 70 donors attend Northumberland Red Cross Blood Drive

The Northumberland Chapter of the Red Cross held its Blood Drive on Tuesday, July 29 at Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Heathsville, VA.  The chapter thanks St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church for hosting the Drive, as well as the Northumberland Lions Club for hosting the Canteen for us.  The gentlemen who prepared the “goodies” were  Joel Stubbs, Bob Binsky, Beg Groenwald, Bob Holley, Lee Allain, and Dick Saxer. Red Cross Volunteers were Ron Whitt, Francis Harvey, Eleanor Morris, Marge Himler, Rick Skelton, Will Slaughter, Rich Landon, Garland Dillard and members of the Heathsville and Reedville Masons: Sherry Fisher, Bill Kirby, Julie Pritchard, Dana Nay, Joan Clements and Kitty Creeth.

There were 72 donors who came out to donate, and 62 units of blood were collected.  The donors were as follows:  Eleanor R. Morris, Marge Himler, Odessa J. Northumberland County’s next Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 at First Baptist Church on Rt. 201 in Heathsville from noon until 6 pm.  Mark your calendars and plan to donate.
