Carl James “Jim” Fisher
Carl James “Jim” Fisher, passed away on April 8, 2013, at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond surrounded by his family.
He was born January 24, 1942, in Roanoke to Carl and Margaret Fisher. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon C. Fisher; his daughter, Michelle Fisher Barb and husband, Michael, his son, C.J. Fisher and wife, Dawn; his grandchildren, Nicole Barb Owens and husband, Timothy, Jodie Barb Hairfield, and husband, Daniel, Carrie Fisher, and Jayme Fisher; and great-grandchildren, Jesse Hairfield, Emily Hairfield and Alyssa Owens. He was predeceased by his parents.
He attended American University and the University of Maryland, and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an Investigator for the Town of Vienna, VA Police Department and as a Security Manager for DOD contractors in Northern Virginia.
He was a member of Bethany UMC and Masonic Lodge 321. A funeral service was held April 13, at Bethany UMC with burial at Roseland Cemetery.

Elsie Marie Reamy
Elsie Marie Reamy, 75, of Richmond was promoted to heaven on Thursday morning, April 11, 2013 at Cedarfield Health Care Center in Richmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Anna Reamy, and sister, Alice Clark Lewis. She is survived by her brother, Joseph (Joe) Reamy and his wife, Minnie of Montross and nephew, Allen Clark of Dahlgren.
She was a resident of Cedarfield Retirement Community. Elsie retired as Executive Vice President of Professional Insurance Agency of Virginia and District of Columbia. She served the agency with professionalism from 1978 until her retirement in 2003. She received many awards and recognition for her professionalism in the growth of the Professional Insurance Agency. She started the CIC education training school in which she was the instructor for several classes. For many years, she was a lobbyist for the insurance agency and continued in this capacity even after retirement.
She was an active member of Bethany Christian Church in Richmond, holding various positions within the church including teaching an adult Sunday school class, deacon, elder and trustee. She served as Secretary of the church district for many years. After retirement she was employed by the Mennonite Church in Richmond as part-time office worker. Elsie made and had many friends throughout her life. This was made evident during her battle with cancer. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Ephesus Christian Church (Foneswood), Horners Mill Road, Montross with Reverend Mark Anderson officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Jim Davis, Ross Dorneman, John Grubb, Allen Hynson, James White and James Fogg.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on April 21, 2013 at Bethany Christian Church, 5400 Forest Hill Avenue, Richmond VA.

Joel Christopher “J.C.” Abercrombie
Joel Christopher “J.C.” Abercrombie passed away peacefully Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Maguire VA Medical Center at the age of 86. J.C. was born on April 14, 1926 in Easley, S.C. and was the son of George Paul Abercrombie and Olive Parsons Abercrombie. J.C. served in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged. J.C. married his wife of 67 years, Nellie Mae Alexander Abercrombie, on June 29, 1946.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Mae Alexander Abercrombie; sons, George “Chip” Paul Abercrombie and wife, Karen, Terry Lee Abercrombie and wife, Robin; grandchildren, Katrina Pitts and husband, Jock, Angie Guillory and friend, Travis, Paula Stevens and husband, Tony, Bonita French and husband, Jonathan, Mitzi Riccio and husband, Bob, Kimberly Stout and husband, Paul and Joel Abercrombie and wife, Beth; great-grandchildren, Chris, Robbie, Michael, Ashley, Jamee Lynn, Greg, Matt, Anthony, Stephanie, Alex and Tucker; siblings, Dot Henderson and husband, Jim of Greenville, S.C., Dale Abercrombie and wife, Judy of Easley, S.C., as well as numerous loving family members across the country.
He was predeceased by his loving daughter, Wanda Brooks in 2003 and siblings, Jett Stevens, Ruth Rice, Harold Abercrombie and Jennie Thomas.
J.C. was a loving husband, father and Papa and touched many lives in the community. He will be missed by many and will stay in our hearts forever. He was a role model – very giving and with a big heart. He always led by example. He was gentle and wise. He would cry with you and laugh with you. He was a man of very few words, but many truths.

Edith May Bowen, 81, of Montross, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013. She
was the widow of Frank Bowen, a member of Ephesus Christian Church andretired as a machine operator at H. Warshow and Sons, Inc.She is survived by a son, Frank Junior Bowen and his wife, Katharine of Lyells; granddaughter, Karen Lankford (David) of Heathsville;great-grandchildren, Blake Lankford and Kyle Lankford; sisters, ThelmaJones, Janie Sanford and Audrey Dunn.
She was preceded in death by a son, Carroll Bowen; brother, Earl Balderson,and sisters, Ann Bowen and Margaret Jones.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 10 at Ephesus ChristianChurch with Rev. Mark Anderson and Pastor Wade Wilkins officiating.

Dorothy Mae “Miss Dottie” Woods, 85, of Hague, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013. She was a retired produce manager at Hague Supermarket.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Darlene Hafer (Lee) of King George, Janet Marie Lewis (Mark) of Thurmont, Md., Delores Jean Michaels-Woods of Frederick, Md. and Jo Ann Sydnor (Greg) of Kinsale; sisters, Jerlean Eader of Poolesville, Md. and Catherine Maus of Hagerstown, Md.; two brothers, Delter Catron, Clarksburg, Md. and Junior Catron, Frederick, Md.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving caregiver and special friend, Alice Pierce.
She was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Samatha Wiltrout; sister,
Mildred Cullop; brother, Raymond Luther Catron, and close friend, Ernest Samuel Weaver.

Geraldine McNeal Wilkins
Geraldine McNeal Wilkins, 88, of Callao passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. She was a member of Henderson United Methodist Church, Callao.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Filmore Wilkins. Mrs. Wilkins is survived by two daughters, Mildred Ann Fulford of Kilmarnock and Faye Wilkins Burnett and husband, Danny of Callao; son, Charles “Chuck” A. Wilkins and wife, Tammy of Callao; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Ash Funeral Home from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Henderson United Methodist Church, Callao at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Earl Edward Lewis
Earl Edward Lewis, 90, of Callao passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013. He retired after 26 years as a truck driver with McLean Trucking, Richmond. Earl served in the U.S. Army and was a WWII veteran.
He survived by his wife of 66 years, Ethel K. Lewis; two daughters, Brenda L. Lafoon, and her husband, Michael of Chester and Janet L. Lewis of Florida; son, William E. Lewis and his wife, Nancy of Richmond; sister, Irma D. Gregory and companion, Boots Wheeler of Quinton; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Ash Funeral Home Saturday, April 20, noon to hour of service at 2 p.m. Burial will be held at Carmel United Methodist Church, Kinsale.
