Ryan Morgan has had quite a year since graduating from Bridgewater College. But his life is beginning to unfold with the sport he loves.
Since graduating this past spring, Morgan didn’t have to wait too long before finding a profession that would put his soccer skills to the test. As a soccer standout at Essex and Bridgewater College, Morgan is now coaching and helping with marketing for Commonwealth Soccer Programs since May.
“It’s kind of crazy how it fell on to me. It was a like a dream job,” Morgan said.
The opportunity came as a surprise as Morgan described it shortly after he realized he would have to figure out his life after college.
But in a forwarded e-mail from his father, Rich, he learned that the Dynamo Travel Soccer Club in Richmond would become an interest. The organization operated by Commonwealth Soccer Programs was moving to Mechanicsville that was closer to his hometown in Tappahannock.
Morgan said he applied and then a week before graduating was brought on as an intern.
Having the opportunity to become an intern with the organization and teaching soccer players came at a surprise and a joy to the business major. The thought of him becoming a soccer coach came during his sophomore season at Essex High School.
