Main Street takes a new turn in Warsaw

After three years of fun, fellowship and fresh produce, Warsaw is sadly saying goodbye to its monthly farmers’ market. Instead, it will be welcoming a new line-up of community events that many hope will once again prove that Richmond County is the place to be for exciting activities.
Last week, Hillary Kent, an intrinsic member of the Pugh family who has helped spearhead the Main Street incentive in Warsaw, announced a new agenda packed with unique events that area residents could enjoy starting this spring.
“We talked a little in our last farmers’ market season about the increasing number of markets across the Northern Neck and we realized that locally, that service was being met,” Kent said on Monday. “Our goal is not to compete against neighboring counties, we want to provide a service to our citizens and we felt that the market was getting very saturated.”
With some trepidation, the Warsaw Farmers’ Market managers announced their plans for 2014, including a “Season of Shindigs” centered on building greater community events in the heart of Richmond County.
