Richmond County little league softball minors (8-10) years old won the District 15 tournament on June 24 to go to states. They had a bye and faced Mathews on June 18 in the second round; with a (9-5) win they were on to the next round. The softball minors defeated Spotsylvania (23-7) on June 21, and on June 22 they beat King William (9-0) to move to the championship. This time they had a closer game (2-1) victory against King William and the right to represent District 15 in the state tournament in Damacus on July 6.
Essex County little league softball majors (10-12) years old breezed through the District 15 tournament to capture the banner and a slot in the state tournament on June 30. After their first-round bye, they shutout Spotsylvania (30-0) on June 24. Next was a (5-2) win against Mathews on June 25, then they faced Lancaster for a (13-1) game on June 27. Essex defeated Richmond county (14-2) on June 30 to take the banner and a slot in the tournament in McLean beginning July 13.
