When Susan McFadden of Warsaw was invited to join the new class of Lead Northern Neck forming last fall, she was delighted. The owner of Open Door Communication said she had heard wonderful things about the program from participants in the first class. Now that her class is approaching the end of its nine-month program, she realizes that her decision was a great one.
“I’ve learned so much that I didn’t know about county government, the court system, the nonprofit community—it’s been one eye-opening experience after another,” she says. McFadden also enjoys the camaraderie among classmates, who are eager to engage in frank discussions about issues that hold back the region from achieving full prosperity and about ways to overcome obstacles to progress.
