The Rappahannock Raiders volleyball team went into the class 1 Region A championship having to face the Lancaster Lady Red Devils in the regional quarterfinals on Monday, November 4. They defeated the Lady Red Devils in three sets (3-0). Next on the list was the Chincoteague Lady Ponies in the regional semifinals, after a five hour road trip they defeated the Lady Ponies (3-1).The had to travel to the Middlesex Lady Chargers one of the few teams that handed the Lady Raiders a loss during the regular season was their opponent in the Regional Championship on Tuesday, November 12. The Lady Raiders took the lead in the first set (12-8), (18-9), and won (25-19) to go up (1-0). They were in front in the second set (7-0), (17-9), and won (25-16) to be ahead (2-0). The third set and another lead for the visitors (5-3), (13-5), and (16-9). The Lady Chargers made a run to tie the game (21-21) and won (23-25) to make it (2-1). The fourth set was close through the first round of servers; the home team went ahead (12-19), (14-22), and won (16-25) to tie the sets (2-2). The Lady Raiders found their offensive flow and took the fifth set tie breaker (15-5) to win (3-2) and bring the trophy back to Rappahannock.
