The Rappahannock Lady Raiders varsity softball team had one playoff game at home and were on the road for the championship. They faced the W&L Lady Eagles on Wednesday, May 15, in the semifinals. The Lady Raiders were behind after the first inning (0-1); they tied the game (1-1) in the bottom of the second off a Regan Allen single. They added another run in the bottom of the third to go ahead (2-1). The home team plated three runs in the bottom of the fourth (5-1) with Regan Allen and Grace Minor added rbi’s. Another run in the fifth made it (6-1), a comfortable advantage that good pitching and defense would have no problem holding. Rilee Baughan threw 6.2 innings with 14 K’s, 2 hits, and 2 runs allowed. The Lady Eagles got one run back in the top of the six to make it a four-run game (6-2). The Lady Raiders closed out the game (6-2).
