Both team’s defense made it difficult to score to begin the game; they caused turnovers with steals or the ball thrown out of bounds. The Lady Raiders were ahead (3-1) with 5:08 to play in the first period. The lead built to (10-1) then (12-1) before the Lady Indians scored (12-3) with 2:04 left and the period ended with the home team up by eight (12-4). One minute into the second quarter the lead was (17-4). The visitors rallied and poured in ten straight points to make it (17-14) mid-way through the second period. The halftime break didn’t help either team as they struggled on the offensive end of the court scoring eleven total points.
