In January, forty women sent in applications, resumes, videos, and photographs to vie for the title of Ms Super Senior USA 2019 after winning titles in their respective states.  Rebecca Tebbs Nunn, who was crowned Ms Super Senior Virginia USA 2019 in January, was among them.  Through additional videos and face time, Nunn was advised in May that she had been named a finalist in the Top Ten.  In June, the field was narrowed to the Top Five by the Board of Governors of the Senior USA/Universe Pageant which is affiliated with the Miss USA/ Miss Universe Pageant.  Those Top Five would compete in Las Vegas. Nunn again made the cut.

On June 9, Rebecca, the Vice Mayor of Kilmarnock, left for a week-long competition in Las Vegas where she attended breakfasts, a Queens’ Ball, Las Vegas shows, and Showgirl Boot Camp plus two days of rehearsals before performing Shakespeare with a twist on the Las Vegas stage of the Saxe Theatre at Planet Hollywood.  The twist was that in three minutes, Rebecca performed a portion of Portia’s pleading to Brutus from William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” and then went into a routine of her alter ego, Modine Gunch from Scratch Ankle Falls, Georgia.  She competed in evening gown, was interviewed face to face by five judges and gave her philosophy of life in thirty-five seconds.
