The Healthy Harvest Food Bank is one step closer to their vision of a healthier Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula with the ground breaking on a new facility located off Route 3 in Warsaw. Once completed this fall, the food bank will have more space to achieve two pieces central to their mission: meeting the growing needs of area food banks and teaching the community how to live healthier lives through healthier eating.
The new building will provide the food bank with more storage to handle their expanding gleaning and harvesting program and better accommodate the 2 million pounds of food they distribute every year to 25 pantries across the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.
It is also more centrally located to their partner pantries and network of farmers in their nationally recognized agricultural program.
