Four seats open on town council ballot

The Warsaw Town Council will have four seats up for election on May 3, of which only three people will be on the ballot. The fourth seat will be a write-in.

The three candidates up for election are Ogle E. Forrest Sr., Ralph Self and Mathieu W. Sisk. Self and Forrest are both currently on the council. Members of the town council urged voters to write-in current Councilman William Washington, IV for the fourth seat.

At the April 14 town council meeting Washington said he originally did not put his name in to be put on the ballot because he thought he was more of a problem to the board than a solution due to his opinions being minority opinions.

“When you find yourself sometimes being the only one kind of spinning the rhetoric you wonder if you’re a good fit,” Washington said …
