Local artist and writer, Karen Kagey will be highlighted at the Tappahannock Artist’s Guild; her showcase “Everything is Alive” will be on display following the opening reception on May 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 200 Prince Street.
A former columnist for the Northern Neck News, Kagey explains how she went from writing to painting when she decided to take a break from the world of newspapers: “Painting became my new ‘happy’” said Kagey. “Over the past few years, landscape paintings gave way to still life scenes that morphed into surreal combinations of artistic styles.”
