Essex High School in Tappahannock searching for new principal

Posted on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 4:02 pm

According to a June 26 release, the current principal (Angela Mosley) of Essex High School has resigned. In order to have a principal in place for the upcoming school year, ECPS must immediately begin the process of advertising and selecting a new principal for the 2014-2015 school year.
Human Resources will post the position on-line so that the school system can begin to receive candidate applications. According to Superintendent Scott A. Burckbuchler, “An advisory committee made up of members of the faculty/staff, School Board, parent(s), and administrative staff will be created to recommend candidates for my consideration.” Dr. Burckbuchler added: “I expect that this process will occur in the month of July and that I will be able to submit the new principal for School Board approval by the first week of August. However, we will shorten/lengthen this process as necessary to secure the services of the “right” candidate.”
Burckbuchler concluded: “Given our need to improve, we are looking for a student-centered, highly engaged, transformative leader that, in partnership with faculty/staff, will move Essex High School towards excellence.”
