The Rappahannock Community College library, also the Richmond County Public Library, and the Rappahannock Church of Christ held their respective Easter egg events. Both had their draws, at the college, it was sponsored and planned by the library with a free book for every child and games to play. At the church, they had a bounce house and field full of eggs. At both was an Easter bunny for photos with the kids, and hot dogs for lunch. The college had a magician, and the church had an illusionist.
Both drew large crowds, well over 200 attendees, or at least children, each. The Richmond County Public Library has been doing their Easter event for at least three years, according to Ruth Lynn, the children’s program coordinator at the library. “We usually have it outside,” she said. “But the question of the weather made us move it inside.”
Walking into the college, families followed tracks left by the Easter bunny to the student lounge, where games and books, and food were set up along with face painting and the big bunny just waiting to take pictures.
