The American Red Cross Services to Armed Forces Team is proud to sponsor a Veterans Resource Fair, to be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will be in the YMCA’s gym at 39 Harris Road in Kilmarnock. Organizations, both public and private, who provide various services to our armed forces will have displays highlighting available assistance. This fair is open to ALL active military, veterans and retirees and their families. The public is invited to savor the flavor of Virginia wines. The Northern Neck Wine Fest will take place from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. on the grounds of historic Rice’s Hotel / Hughlett’s Tavern in Heathsville.
Tickets include a free etched wine glass for tastings. Food and other wine-related vendors will be on hand. The Tavern Restaurant and “Heritage Arts Center” Gift Shop will also be open.
Come early and enjoy the season-opening Heathsville Farmers Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shoppers will find farm-fresh produce, bread and baked goods, goat cheese, flowers and nursery plants, and unique locally-made handcrafts. A celebration of Earth Day will take place concurrently, offering exhibits and special activities, all with an environmental theme.
