Rural Housing Loan program information session

USDA Rural Development will host a rural housing loan program information session in Warsaw at Rappahannock Community College from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The session will serve as an education opportunity for lenders, realtors, nonprofit partners and interested individuals in the area.

Parade of Hats service
Apr 9 – Apr 10 all-day

The Pastor Aid/Courtesy Guild Ministry of Beulah Baptist Church, Lively will hold a Parade of Hats service. All ladies and gentlemen please wear your favorite hats and march into fellowship. Skit “Are We There Yet’ and special singing group, Hearts of Joy from Tappahannock will be featured. Please join us for the awesome occasion.

Tidal Clean Up Day

Join Friends of the Rappahannock and Richmond County’s Class of 2022 in downtown Warsaw at the Warsaw Richmond County Main Street Park on April 9 at 9am for a day of service and fun! Students, families and community members will be cleaning up throughout Warsaw! This even is fun and free for the whole family! This event is rain or shine, unless conditions are too poor. If you have a truck and can haul away trash, please bring it. Come at 9am to get supplies and be dressed in closed toe shoes and working clothes. Pre-registration is required; go to riverfriends.org/tidalcleanup to sign up today!

Montross Community Food Pantry distribution

The Montross Community Food Pantry will be making its next distribution on Saturday, April 9 from 9 am – 11 am at St. James’ Parish Hall.

Montross Community Food Pantry is a faith based program, sponsored by St. James’ Episcopal Church but supported by members of many of the churches in the Montross area. We are affiliated with the Food Bank of the Northern Neck and FeedMore (The Central Virginia Food Bank).

We seek to provide healthy food to supplement the diet of low and moderate income persons in our area. We have a non-discrimination policy with regard to race, creed, color, national origin, or disability. We attempt to welcome all in the name and spirit of Christ.

We are always in need of volunteer workers at our pantry, which operates on the second Saturday of each month. Volunteers are also needed the afternoon prior to the pantry date from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. If you are able to help, please call 493-8285. Donations of cash are accepted at Montross Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 177, Montross, VA 22520. Food donations may be delivered to St. James’ Episcopal Church at 15870 Kings Highway, Montross, or at many local churches

History Talk & Walk

Northumberland Preservation, Inc. (NPI) and Dividing Creek Association will host a history talk and walk that begins at Shiloh School at 9:30 a.m. June Hudnall Turnage will be the presenter.

Dividing Creek Association president, Robert Gary, will welcome visitors. The public is invited.  Shiloh School is located at the end of Shiloh School Road, a turn from route 200, 3 miles north of Kilmarnock.

6th annual Lancaster Court Day Colonial Festival

The sounds of fifes and drums and musket-fire will echo on the grounds of the Mary Ball Washington Museum as history comes to life during the 6th annual Lancaster Court Day Colonial Festival.  This family-friendly event offers 18th-century entertainment and activities for all ages, including a colonial encampment, storytelling, costumed characters, music, games, craftsmen demonstrations, and more. Lancaster Court Day takes place April 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, on the grounds of the Mary Ball Washington Museum, 8346 Mary Ball Rd, in Lancaster Court House village.  General admission is for adults and free for children 18 and under.  Pets not permitted.  For more information visit www.facebook.com/mbwm.org or call 804-462-7280. $

Northumberland Primary School Art Exhibit @ Rappahannock Art League Studio Gallery

A Northumberland Primary School Art Exhibit will be on display until Feb. 25 at the Rappahannock Art League Studio Gallery, 19 N. Main Street, Kilmarnock. Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday.

Valinor Quartet

The Valinor Quartet will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Rappahannock Concert Association, this concert will be held in the Northumberland High School auditorium, 201 Academic Lane in Heathsville. The all acoustic Valinor Quartet is a unique hybrid of jazz and classical music and encompasses the diverse cultural backgrounds of its members.

Galilee Methodist Church Ushers’ Anniversary

The Galilee Methodist Church Ushers will have their Ushers’ Anniversary on Sunday, April 10, at 3 p.m. Special guest ushers will be from Jerusalem Baptist Church, Hague, joined by their Pastor Darryl Fisher, their choir and church family. All are welcome.

The Deacon’s Ministry of Mulberry Baptist Church invites to a celebration of worship at 4 PM.  The guest speaker will be Reverend Kelvin Evans of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, accompanied by his choir and congregation.  Please plan to come out and fellowship with Mulberry as we look forward to a glorious time in the LORD.
