Chinese Acrobats
Apr 6 @ 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

Chesapeake Academy will present Chinese Acrobats as part of the Seth Ware Ahlborn Performing Arts and Lecture Series for ages three through grade four. 9:30 a.m. Returning to Chesapeake Academy after an extraordinary performance in 2011, a team of Chinese acrobats will entertain and educate children as they present a colorful and amazing program.  An interpreter will enrich the program of contortions, phenomenal acrobatics, foot juggling, beautiful costumes and music with facts about Chinese culture, customs and school life.  Contact Hilary Scott at 804.438.5575 or hscott@chesapeakeacademy.org to make a reservation for this program.

American Legion Post 117

The American Legion Post 117 in Reedville will host its monthly meeting will be Thursday April 7 with the executive board convening at 10 and the general membership meets at 10:30. Please plan to attend and bring another member or prospective member. As usual, we will have some chow after the meeting.

Rural Housing Loan program information session

USDA Rural Development will host a rural housing loan program information session in Warsaw at Rappahannock Community College from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The session will serve as an education opportunity for lenders, realtors, nonprofit partners and interested individuals in the area.

Parade of Hats service
Apr 9 – Apr 10 all-day

The Pastor Aid/Courtesy Guild Ministry of Beulah Baptist Church, Lively will hold a Parade of Hats service. All ladies and gentlemen please wear your favorite hats and march into fellowship. Skit “Are We There Yet’ and special singing group, Hearts of Joy from Tappahannock will be featured. Please join us for the awesome occasion.

Tidal Clean Up Day

Join Friends of the Rappahannock and Richmond County’s Class of 2022 in downtown Warsaw at the Warsaw Richmond County Main Street Park on April 9 at 9am for a day of service and fun! Students, families and community members will be cleaning up throughout Warsaw! This even is fun and free for the whole family! This event is rain or shine, unless conditions are too poor. If you have a truck and can haul away trash, please bring it. Come at 9am to get supplies and be dressed in closed toe shoes and working clothes. Pre-registration is required; go to riverfriends.org/tidalcleanup to sign up today!

Montross Community Food Pantry distribution

The Montross Community Food Pantry will be making its next distribution on Saturday, April 9 from 9 am – 11 am at St. James’ Parish Hall.

Montross Community Food Pantry is a faith based program, sponsored by St. James’ Episcopal Church but supported by members of many of the churches in the Montross area. We are affiliated with the Food Bank of the Northern Neck and FeedMore (The Central Virginia Food Bank).

We seek to provide healthy food to supplement the diet of low and moderate income persons in our area. We have a non-discrimination policy with regard to race, creed, color, national origin, or disability. We attempt to welcome all in the name and spirit of Christ.

We are always in need of volunteer workers at our pantry, which operates on the second Saturday of each month. Volunteers are also needed the afternoon prior to the pantry date from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. If you are able to help, please call 493-8285. Donations of cash are accepted at Montross Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 177, Montross, VA 22520. Food donations may be delivered to St. James’ Episcopal Church at 15870 Kings Highway, Montross, or at many local churches
