Christmas on Cockrells Creek returns with house tours on Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Santa will make his annual visit to town aboard the Elva C. Dec. 8 at 9 a.m., followed by breakfast at Bethany UMC. For more information, call the museum office at (804)453-6529.

Musical Celebration of Christmas at New Hope Baptist Church @ New Hope Baptist Church

New Hope Baptist Church located on Walmsley Road in Lottsburg will be presenting a Musical Celebration of Christmas at 7 p.m. Featured guests for the evening include The France Family, Sharon Mann, Tommy Thompson, Barbara Howdershell and Debbie Whaley, Harold Childs, Libby Panter and Emily Thorne.  Come out and enjoy an evening of your favorite Christmas carols. Refreshments will be served following the program.

“Books Are Fun” fundraising sale and book drive @ Riverside Tappahannock Hospital Rotunda

The Riverside Tappahannock Hospital Volunteers Services group has partnered with “Books Are Fun” to host a fundraising sale and book drive to promote literacy.  The sale will be held in the hospital rotunda from 7:30 am until 4 p.m.  New books will also be collected and donated to the Tappahannock Free Clinic and Tappahannock Elementary School’s Summer Literacy Program.

Trail dedication to Henry Bashore at the Hickory Hollow @ Hickory Hollow Parking Lot

The Northern Neck Chapter of the National Audubon Society invites all to a trail dedication to Henry Bashore at the Hickory Hollow parking lot at 4 pm to walk the trail, followed by a flashlight memorial by the bench at dusk.

Advent service at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Callao,at 5:30 p.m. to prepare for Christmas.  The worship theme will be “Interviews with Isaiah” where the Old Testament prophet Isaiah will explain one of his well-known prophecies of the coming Christ.  The entire family is welcome. Good Shepherd Lutheran is located two miles west of Callao on Rte. 202 (1717 Hampton Hall Road).
