Cuddlebugs will be celebrating their new location and Open House on May 4th. They are incorporating our Open House with the Healthy Kids Day and will have a car safety seat inspection station here with Chief Spare and other inspectors. Bake and White Elephant Sale

The Ebenezer Church United Methodist Women will have a Bake and White Elephant Sale on Saturday, May 4th, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at Murphy Seed Service in Mt. Holly.  All proceeds benefit the UMW mission projects.

Invasive Plant Removal Day

The Virginia Master Naturalists and the Virginia Native Plant Society are hosting an Invasive Plant Removal Day on Saturday, May 4 at Belle Isle State Park from 9 a.m. to noon.  Attendees should wear sturdy shoes or boots and gloves.  Pre-registration is requested by contacting charlene.talcott@dcr.virginia.gov

Northern Neck Chapter of the Climate Change Lobby (CCL) will feature two speakers at its meeting

The Northern Neck Chapter of the Climate Change Lobby (CCL) will feature two speakers at its meeting on Saturday, May 4, at the Northumberland Public Library in Heathsville, starting at 11:30 a.m. Anyone concerned with the local and national aspects of climate change is welcome. The meeting is a brown bag lunch – CCL will provide beverages.  For more information, please contact Dr. Greg Haugan at 804-580-2166.

Rice’s Hotel / Hughlett’s Tavern will celebrate the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby

Rice’s Hotel / Hughlett’s Tavern will celebrate the 139th running of the Kentucky Derby by holding its 8th Annual “Run for the Roses” Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 4th. 3 to 7 pm. Everyone is invited. Cash prizes and live music.  Tickets cost $35 per person, $65 per couple in advance; $40/$70 at the gate. Reservations are requested by April 29th. Group pricing is available.
