PUBLIC NOTICE – PLANNING COMMISSION
In accordance with Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended and pursuant to Section 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended, the Richmond County Planning Commission hereby gives notice that a Public Hearing will be held starting at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Richmond County Public Meeting Room, 101 Court Circle, Warsaw, Virginia 22572. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to consider the following:
• To receive public comment on proposed amendments to the Richmond County Zoning Ordinance in Sections 4-14-7 (Boathouses), 4-14-8 (Piers and Docks) and 5-3 (Definitions). The proposed amendments, as presented, may be viewed online at www.co.richmond.va.us or in person at the Richmond County Administrator’s Office at 101 Court Circle, Warsaw, Virginia 22572 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Town of Warsaw will hold a public hearing on Thursday, February 23rd at 6:00 P.M. at the Warsaw Town Hall, located at 78 Belle Ville Lane, Warsaw, VA 22572, to solicit public input on the proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
proposal to be submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for the Warsaw Business District Revitalization. Residents of the project area are encouraged to attend. The Warsaw Business District Revitalization proposal will include the following activities:
Façade improvements, the design and installation of wayfaring signage (gateway signs and directional signs), the installation of landscaping, street furniture, street lighting, and pedestrian crosswalks, and the development of a marketing website and a marketing plan for the Business District. Also included will be the creation of a Revolving Loan Fund for loans to businesses in the Project Area, and improvements to the Project Area’s stormwater drainage.
The draft CDBG proposal will be presented for comment along with information on projected beneficiaries, including the number of low- and moderate-income residents to benefit from the proposed project, and plans to minimize displacement. Citizens will also be given the opportunity to comment on Warsaw’s past use of CDBG funds. A fact sheet on the proposed project and the draft proposal is available at the Warsaw Town Office.
