Hometowns are a source of pride for most, with many wishing they could return to the familiar streets and faces in their adulthood. For Dr. Joel Knight, returning to Warsaw is no different – but this time around, he’s bringing skills that would benefit many in the community in the form of Knight Chiropractic.
In what is locally known as the former Commonwealth Florist’s location at 6171 Richmond Road, Knight will be opening his own chiropractic practice the first week in September to treat and help serve those in the Warsaw area. The practice will have one full-time staff member, Cheryl Ellis Brooks from Tappahannock, to assist him in the day-to-day operations.
Knight graduated from Life University in Atlanta, Ga., before moving to Tappahannock to work at Atlas Family Chiropractic in 2013. After five years with this practice, he decided it was time to strike out on his own in the best location he could think of – his hometown of Warsaw.
“When I graduated, I knew that I wanted to move back to the area,” said Knight, known to his patients as Dr. Joel. “I’m thrilled to be in Warsaw because it’s the town I grew up in and it’s where every memory is.”
By practicing patient centered health care, Knight uses scientific methods to treat, diagnose and personalize patients’ treatments to tailor their exact needs during their visits with him. He makes sure to x-ray every patient, identify the chief complaint, and works to improve that condition.
Knight Chiropractic will accept insurance, including Medicare. Chiropractic care is used for injury cases, such as damage after a car accident or workplace injury, but also as a preventative measure. Treatment can assist with headaches, pain relief, sleeping issues, awareness of self, and posture, according to Knight.
“I’ve received a ton of community support and am so appreciative of that,” said Knight.
While the practice is opening in September, spots are filling up quickly. A grand opening for Knight Chiropractic will be held in October at a later decided date.
