The Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck is pleased to announce that Gabrielle Ongies, an attorney at Hubbard, Terry & Britt in Irvington, and Monique Warren, a principal in the White Plains, New York, office of Jackson Lewis, P.C. have recently become board members. “We are delighted to welcome our distinguished new board members, each of whom brings a unique set of skills and enthusiasm to help us achieve our mission of enabling our young members to achieve their potential and realize their dreams,” says BGCNN President Shawn Lamb.
Ms. Ongies primarily specializes in estate planning and administration, business, and tax law. A graduate of the College of William and Mary where she majored in Russian and Post-Soviet Studies, and Washington and Lee University School of Law, she is also a Technical Sergeant in the Virginia Air National Guard at Langley Air Force Base where she works with the F-22. In addition, Ms. Ongies provides pro bono services for people who would qualify for a low-income taxpayer clinic and is planning to join the Community Tax Law Project in Richmond.
“My main interest in joining the Boys & Girls Club,” says Ms. Ongies, “is to help club kids figure out what they would like to do after graduating, whether to go to college, join the military, or go into a trade. I am hoping to be able to show them that there are so many opportunities out there, and so many different ways of getting to where they want to be, and that they can do everything on their own timeline.”
