Board discusses some changes

At the Richmond County Board of Supervisors meeting, some important matters were discussed. Along with the topic of the potentially changing school year start date, Belle Ville and convenience centers were under review.

Belle Ville Purchase

The board voted unanimously to ratify a contract to buy approximately 46 acres of land from Belle Ville Enterprises. The county will pay $692,385 for the property, which is located in the Town of Warsaw.

The board believes the deal is best for the citizens of the county.

Seasonal Convenience Center Hours

Going forward, Richmond County convenience centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from November to March. The county tested the seasonal schedule last year. It saves the county between $6,000 – 7,000, and there were virtually no complaints from the public.

The board all voted in favor of making the early closure permanent.
