The 2019 Mount Airy Bluegrass Festival will take place on June 28-29 at historic Mount Airy in Warsaw.
“We’re expecting a beautiful sunny weekend with cooler temps in the evening hours for the concerts,” said organizer Catherine Emery. “For those who might be coming to the Rivah from out of town or who like to make plans at the last minute, tickets will be available at the gate both days.”
Friday afternoon tickets can be purchased anytime after 3 p.m. at the gate. Cash or check only. The event address is 361 Millpond Rd., Warsaw. Local bluegrass pickers Josh Grigsby & County Line headline Friday’s show with the upstart North Carolina outfit Carolina Blue kicking things off at 6 p.m. A complimentary raw oyster bar for attendees will be provided by Travis and Ryan Croxton of the Rappahannock Oyster Company.
On Saturday, the music kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with recent Virginia state bluegrass hall of fame artist Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice. Ralph Stanley II & The Clinch Mountain Boys and Grammy winning artist Rhonda Vincent & The Rage will headline Saturday night.
A portion of the proceeds from the festival will be donated to the local non-profit, Friends of the Rappahannock.
