Leonard “Teeny Man” Hall

Multi-Sports

Almost always the smallest person on the team, Hall excelled at baseball and softball from age nine with most of his 46 years on the diamond playing fast pitch, slow pitch and modified pitch softball with the Lottsburg Clippers. He also coached the Moosetters Ladies Softball Team and little league football.

In golf he won numerous championships and in bowling he frequently had the highest average.

 

 

Foster E. “Bill” Lee

Baseball

One of the key people responsible for bringing youth baseball to Kilmarnock, Bill served on the Youth Club Board of Directors for over 10 years and coached from 1957 to 1976 in both Little League and Pony League, winning Championships in 1969 and 1971 with American Standard.

He was also an outstanding pitcher for Kilmarnock with the Chesapeake League.

 

 

Lisa Hinton-Valdrighi

Sports Reporter/Photographer

Lisa Hinton-Valdrighi joined the Rappahannock Record staff as an intern in 1988 and took a permanent job at the newspaper in 1989. A general assignment reporter and photographer, her primary beat is sports. Over the past 23 years, she has written about and covered thousands of sporting events across the Northern Neck from lawn mower races and mud bogs to swim meets and state basketball championships. In a male-dominated field, she has been one of the few female sports reporters to consistently win statewide awards. Lisa has won 52 writing and photography awards, including 17 Virginia Press Association awards for sports writing and photography plus nine for sports writing and photography from the Virginia Press Women and five from the National Association for Press Women.
