Farm and Field Day at Northumberland High School, April 25

Farm & Field Day is open to the public and is on Saturday, April 25th from 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM at Northumberland High School. It is open to the public and will have a petting zoo, farm equipment, the PAES greenhouse plant sale, a rain barrel workshop, plus over 45 indoor and outdoor vendors and displays.   • Virginia Marine Resources Commission has decided to reduce the cost of recreational saltwater fishing licenses, effective April 1

    “Now is the time of year when saltwater anglers dust off their fishing gear and tune up their boats, and I’m pleased to announce the cost of a saltwater fishing license is going down,’’ said Commissioner John M.R. Bull. “Anglers may want to wait a week  to buy their licenses for the year, when the new, lower license fee goes in effect. This will save them at least $5 each.”

On March 5, 2015, Marcus Delonte Hundley strangled a female on the 1100 block on Finch’s Hill Rd., Warsaw after a domestic altercation.  It is believed he is staying in the Tappahannock area.  He is wanted on one felony and one misdemeanor charge.     “Unfortunately it’s a new fraud every year,” sighed Captain of the Richmond County Sheriff’s office, Steve Smith. “They’re filing taxes online under other peoples name and information.   • Driver airlifted from single-car accident on Route 360 near Callao

    A one car accident occurred on Dec. 17 in front of the residence of Edward Hall on Route 360, west of Callao. According to Sheriff C.A.Wilkinson, the accident may have been the result of a medical issue with the driver.  He indicated that the car had crossed over the ditch twice.
