Rappahannock varsity baseball defeats Lancaster 6-1, improves to 8-1

The Rappahannock varsity baseball team’s first conference game of the year produced a solid 6-1 win over the visiting Lancaster Red Devils, improving the Raiders’ overall record to 8-1. The offense set the tone early with Ken Pierson blasting a 2-run single to stretch Rappahannock’s lead to 5-0 in the second inning.     The Rappahannock JV softball team kept up their torrid pace as they dominated the visiting Red Devils in five innings to win 13-0. The Raiders jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first inning with Lancaster facing a total of 10 batters.     Lancaster faced no fewer than five batters per inning. Rappahannock faced no more than four. Sixteen Lady Red Devils stepped up to bat in the entire game.
