Broaddus named offense player of the the year

Essex’s sophomore quarterback Dominek Broaddus ended his football season receiving one of the highest individual honors recently.

According to the Virginia High School Coaches’ Association, Broaddus was named the offensive player of the year for Group A Division 2 representing not only the Eastern Section Division 2 schools, but also the Northern Neck.

Broaddus joins the first team all-state offensive team along with teammates senior defensive linemen Deiondre Dancy and Rahiem Rolling and sophomore defensive back Sterling Hammond. The defensive back was named the all-state second team.
