Northern Neck Land Conservancy hosts Easement presentation
The Northern Neck Land Conservancy will sponsor “Why I Protected My Land with a Conservation Easement” on Dec. 2 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall in King George.
This presentation will feature a panel interview with three landowners in King George County who have protected their lands with a conservation easement. They will have the opportunity to explain the process, the tax benefits, and the intrinsic reward of knowing that their property will be forever protected and preserved.
Landowners include Stuart Ashton, Sami Sbtani and Lawrence Latane. An attorney for conservation easements, Lee Stephens, will present information on the process of placing an easement, and Bill Latane, from the Virginia Farm Bureau, will talk about the value of protecting agricultural lands in the Northern Neck. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gather more information about land conservation.
St. Paul’s Church is located at the intersection of Dahlgren Road and Caledon Road. For more information, contact Jamie Tucker at the Northern Neck Land Conservancy at 804-462-0979 or go to www.nnconserve.org.
