13 district players named to All Region A Team

Essex’s linebacker Raheim Rolling, a standout Northern Neck District’s Football player, was named the Division 2 Defensive Player of the Year named in the All-Region A First Defensive Team.

Rolling was also named to the region’s second team offensive team as a running back.

He joins 13 other players from the Northern Neck District representing 25.4 percent of the 51 all-region selections, and his coach John Fulks as the recipient of the Division 2 Coach of the Year award.

Senior wide receiver Keith Bundy and sophomore quarterback Dominek Broaddus were named to the all region offense first team. Senior defensive end Alonzo Tompkins, senior defensive lineman Deondre Dancy, senior linebacker Tyrell Ware and sophomore defensive back Sterling Hammond, all members of the Essex football team, were selected to the defense first team.

On the offense second team, Essex’s senior center Ray Champion, senior tackle Calvin Carey, junior wide receiver Dartanious Jones and Lancaster’s running back TreVaughan Davis were selected to join Rolling.

Carey also joined Colonial Beach’s defensive back Tim McDowney, Washington & Lee’s junior linebacker Milan Bullock and senior defensive back Kwame Gray were all added to the defense second team.
