Hubert David Arrington

Hubert David “Dave” Arrington, 87, born Feb. 3, 1925 in Rocky Mount, Va., entered into rest on Oct. 22, 2012 in Daytona Beach. He was a World War II, United States Marine Corps Veteran who proudly served in the Pacific Region, was honorable discharged in 1947, returned to service in Nagasaki, Japan and honorable discharged in 1953. He was a guard at Dahlgren Testing in Dahlgren. He drove a new car carrier for 34 years
He was preceded in death by his six brothers and three sisters.
He was a resident of Hanover, Md. for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl (Rowley); son, Tim Arrington of Ormond Beach; daughters, Sharon Fox of Collierville, Tenn., Sandy Grabowski (Dave) of Elkridge, Md., Donna Isom (Stu) of Ormond Beach; son, David Arrington Sr. of Deale, Md.; 10 grandchildren, Chrissy Whipps, John Baker III, Ariel Keen, Jessica Isom, David Arrington Jr., Andy Isom, Matt Baker, Landon Fox, Allison Isom, Kristy Arrington, and six great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Smith, Corbin Lowry-Baker, Tanner Keen, Ethan Baker, Tori Arrington and Ainsley Keen.
Service will be held on Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Md. 21075 with a family gathering at VFW Post 8097, 7209 Montevideo Road, Jessup, Md. 20794.

Anthony Edward Bryant

Anthony Edward Bryant, 52, of Reedville, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. He was a retired waterman.
He is survived by his brother, John W. Savage, of Newport News, Virginia.
A graveside service will be held at Onancock Cemetery, Onancock, Virginia at a later date.

Liston A. Delano

Liston A. Delano, 84, of Wicomico Church, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and former owner and operator of J.P. Delano Country Store in Remo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby J. Delano.
He is survived by his brother, Elliott Earl Delano and his wife, Susan, of Wicomico Church.
The family received friends at Faulkner Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Burgess on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 with funeral services following. Burial was held at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville.

Mildred Marie Cooper Facchina

On Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, Mildred Marie Cooper Facchina passed from this life to be with the Lord.
Mildred was born Feb. 23, 1916 to Fred and Annie Cooper in Joplin. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Dante V. Facchina; beloved mother of Dante D. of Ladera Ranch, Calif., Ronald V. of Franconia, Linda O’Sullivan of Lamar, Mo., Eileen M. Brown of Tappahanock  and Janet E. Conrad of Haymarket.
She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was a long time resident of Franconia and a former member of both Franconia U.M.C. and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Franconia Fire Dept. She later lived in the Northern Neck of Virginia, where she was an active member of Coles Point U.M.C.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Nov. 1 at Jefferson Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at Columbia Gardens, Arlington, Va. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Capital Caring Hospice.

Margaret A. Madison

Margaret A. Madison, 70, of Reedville, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012. She was a member of Fairport Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Madison.
She is survived by her second husband of 55 years, Earl L. Madison.
She is also survived by her son, Earl L. Madison Jr. of Elkton; her daughter-in-law, Lisa M. Madison of Reedville; her sister, Alice Farmer and her husband, Elbert, of Md.; her brother, James “Jimmy” Denkines and his wife Pamela, of Md.; two grandchildren, Nichole Madison, and Jared Madison, and one great-grandchild.
The family received friends at Faulkner Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Burgess, Virginia, on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services followed at 7 p.m. Graveside Services were held Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.

Nettie Allen Moore

Mrs. Nettie Allen Moore, 91, widow of William Stanley Moore, died at her home on October 29, 2012.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy Ketron and one son, William M. Moore.
Nettie was a lifetime member of Upper Essex Baptist Church.  She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Dix and Mary Straughan (Clay); one son, Archie Moore; four grandchildren, Dan Motley (Karen), Porter Motley (Mary), Tiffany Ketron (Chad) and Ashley Osborne (Jeff); six great grandchildren; one brother, William Allen and one sister, Bessie Tignor.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 12 Noon in Upper Essex Baptist Church with the Reverend S. Roy Foster officiating.  Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were John Tignor, Daniel Tignor, Billy Clark, T.C. Moore, Lindberg Hunley, and Gouldin Tignor. Virginia Dare Thrift

Virginia Dare Thrift, 80, of Tappahannock, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012. She was a retired caregiver.
She was survived by her fiancé, Calvin Davis.
She is also survived by her daughters, Ann Delano and her husband, Louis, of Burgess, and Doris Webb and her husband Johnny of Village; her sons, Kenny Dean Thrift, of West Point,, and Larry Thrift, of Florida; her sisters, Mary Wilkins of Callao, Elsie Jenkins of Port Royal, Violet Lewis of Lottsburg, Louise Lewis of Tappahannock, and Frances Fairfax of Hague.
The family received friends at Jones-Ash Funeral Home,  in Rainswood Tuesday, Nov. 6. Funeral services followed. Burial will be held at Essex Cemetery, Tappahannock, Virginia.
