Randal R. “Randy” Greene was elected to the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Community Banks during its 35th Annual Meeting held at The Williamsburg Lodge & Conference Center in October. Greene is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Lancaster, headquartered in Kilmarnock.

As a Board member, Greene will provide structural guidance to the organization and will represent other community bankers in his area on decisions affecting the industry. His term of office is for three years.

Greene is also the President and CEO of Bay Banks of Virginia, holding company for Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust Company.  He serves on the Boards of Bay Banks, Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust Company.  He joined the family of companies in the fall of 2011.

Greene states he is pleased to serve on the Board of the VACB representing community bankers at the state level.

“Living in the Northern Neck of Virginia is a privilege and one I am enjoying very much,” Greene notes, “though the local economy continues to present its share of economic challenges and community banks do not escape these challenges any more than other local businesses.  It is my hope that working together as community bankers, we can strengthen our communities as a whole and provide opportunities for growth and prosperity.”

Greene and his wife Kathy have a son, Randal, who graduated from college this spring and is now attending law school in Charleston, S.C, and a daughter, Kate, who is in the 9th grade.
