Angela Mosley has resigned from her position as principal of Essex High School. In order to have a principal in place for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year, Essex County schools has begun the process of advertising and selecting a new principal.

Human Resources will post the position on-line so the school system can begin receiving candidate applications. In a June 26 statement, Superintendent Scott A. Burckbuchler said, “An advisory committee made up of members of the faculty/staff, School Board, parent(s), and administrative staff will be created to recommend candidates for my consideration.”

Burckbuchler added, “I expect that this process will occur in the month of July and that I will be able to submit the new principal for School Board approval by the first week of August. However, we will shorten/lengthen this process as necessary to secure the services of the ‘right’ candidate.

“Given our need to improve, we are looking for a student-centered, highly engaged, transformative leader that, in partnership with faculty/staff, will move Essex High School towards excellence,” Burckbuchler said.
