Lancaster schools relay both new expenses and cost-savings to county in joint session for FY15 budget

In Tuesday’s joint session  between the Lancaster County school board and board of supervisors—the first joint session between a quorum of the two boards in over two years—school officials discussed both the savings and increases that they have projected for the 2014-2015 school budget.
Acting Superintendent Sandy Spears pointed out to supervisors and school board members that, with advice from retired Assistant County Administrator Jack Larson and School Finance Director Sue Salg, she reviewed trends over the last five years in the school budget and was able to save $65,000 across multiple categories.
