Cavaliers take the day in a bitter, cold meet against Trojans
The Essex Trojans baseball team hosted the King William Cavaliers on a chilly Thursday March 27.
The Trojans fell behind early with the Cavaliers scoring one run in the first and third inning. They got one run back in the bottom of the third only to give up another one in the top of the fourth. When their opponent scored two runs in the sixth, the home team found themselves down 5-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh.
In full rally form an error followed by two hits had the bases loaded with no outs for the Trojans. Daniel Clark, Jamar Kelly and Teshan Nelson rounded the bases to score, and give their team an opportunity to tie or win the game. The game ended with DeAndre Baylor on third base with his team down 5-4.
