Ware

Robert Lewis Ware, 80, of Milford, Virginia, passed away on January 26, 2014, in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Bob, the son of the late Marshall Linwood and Eloise McEwen Ware of Lorton, Virginia, is survived by his wife, Shirley Ware; his son, Robert Lewis Ware, Jr., and his wife, Michele, of Milford, Virginia and his daughter Betsy Smith of Richmond, Virginia. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Chris Austin, Tracy Austin, KayLee Ware, BreAnna Ware, Jessie Shelton and Owen Shelton – all of Virginia – and stepson Jeffrey Erb, of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Richard Ware (wife Shirley) of Plantation Florida, and Donald Ware (wife Carol), of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Bob was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Penelope Freeman Ware, and by his youngest son, Charles Dean Ware.
Bob was a graduate of Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia, and of General Motors Institute, Flint, Michigan. In 1976, having worked as service manager for Cadillac dealers in North Carolina and Northern Virginia, Bob obtained Harbor View Marina in Oak Grove, Virginia, which he operated for a number of years later becoming a broker for Bestway and Hylas Yachts. Bob loved boating, seeing America with his motor home, and spending time with family and friends. For them, Bob was the “go to” person, because everyone knew that “Bob could do anything,” would tackle any job, and was always ready to help when needed.
A memorial service will be held at Salem Baptist Church in Sparta, Virginia, at a time to be announced, with internment in the church’s memorial garden. Those wishing to honor Bob’s memory may do so with memorial gifts to the Salem Baptist Church, Sparta, Virginia.

Boyle

Lois Rose Boyle, 86, of Newland, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014. She was the widow of William Bernard Boyle, a homemaker and a member of Rappahannock Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Rose Marie Self (Wayne), Judy Boyle (William) and Mary Ellen O’Bier (Durward); grandchildren, Wayne Morris, Kevin Morris, Keith Morris, Bubba Childs, Lynn Hayes, Patrick O’Bier and Cindy Woolard; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Murphy, Brandon Morris, Michelle Squires, Crystal Detrick, Brooke Morris, Kristin Morris, Amanda Morris, Joshua Morris, Lacey Childs, Hailey Childs, Faith Ann France, Caroline Hayes, Elena Hayes, Peyton Hayes, Brie O’Bier, Alisyn O’Bier and Aidan Woolard and great-great-grandchild, Sklar Belfield.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Welcome Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Willard Bowen and Pastor Wade Wilkins officiated. Interment was in Henderson United Methodist Cemetery, Callao. Pallbearers were William Ambrose, Wayne Morris, Keith Morris, Keven Morris, Patrick O’Bier, Bubba Childs, Jonathan Murphy and Joshua Morris. Brandon Morris was honorary pallbearer. Wittman

Genia Carole Wittman, 91, of Richmond, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 2, 2014.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Wittman. She is survived by a brother, Edward Wood (Joyce); a son, Robert Wittman (Kathryn); a daughter, Anne Carole Wittman (Roger); granddaughter, Devon Gooch (Daniel); grandson, Josh Wittman (Tiffany); great-granddaughter, Morgan Gooch; two great-grandsons, Mark Gooch and Macon Wittman; a niece, Carolyn Tory (Ken) and nephew, Johnny Wood.
Genia taught school at Stonewall Jackson Middle School in Mechanicsville, VA and Marymount High School in Richmond. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Woman’s Club of Richmond.
Service will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 11 am on Friday, February 7, 2014. Family will receive visitors 5-7 p.m. at Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home at the Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., Richmond, VA 23228, (804) 355-3800.

Powers

Winter D. “Buddy” Powers Jr., 83, of Farnham passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Westmoreland Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Powers retired from C & P Telephone Co., was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Warsaw, a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the V.F.W.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria B. Powers; a daughter, Tammy P. Groves of Colonial Beach; a son, Winter D. Powers III of Deal Island, Md; a sister, Mary Catherine Palmer of Willamsburg; a brother, Clark Powers of Madison County; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thurs. Jan. 30 at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.
A funeral was held at 11 a.m. Fri. Jan. 31 at the funeral home. Interment followed in Aquia Episcopal Cemetery, Aquia.

Laciny

Mary Ann Laciny, 69, of Heathsville, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Laciny Jr.; her sons, Joseph E. Laciny III of La Plata, Maryland and Michael A. Laciny and his wife, Linda, of Waldorf, Maryland; her brothers, Johnny Tapponnier and Jerry Tapponnier; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
